The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the public notice for UGC-NET December 2026, the national-level eligibility test for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D. programmes in Indian universities and colleges. Online applications for all 87 Subjects in Computer Based Test mode are open from 08 October 2026 up to 28 October 2026 (11:50 PM), with a late-fee window of Rs. 500/- from 29 to 31 October 2026. Fee is Rs. 1150/- for General, Rs. 600/- for Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL and Rs. 325/- for SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender. The Maximum Age : 30 Years applies to JRF candidates only, while there is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor. Applicants need a Master's degree with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). Valid UGC-NET score card in the corresponding subject is required for admission to Ph.D. programmes.
